Late last week, we had the pleasure of spending a night along Georgia’s beautiful Golden Isles before photographing the Days Inn Jekyll Island to help them highlight their newly remodeled rooms. The evening happened to coincide with the Alpha Monocerotids meteor shower which promised to deliver up to 400 shooting starts per hour as the earth briefly passed through the debris field of this ancient comet. Add to that an absolutely stunning sunset and sunrise, and the night’s session certainly warranted our “Fire in the Sky” moniker. Jacksonville’s Muggy and Mystifying 2019 Sea and Sky Spectacular Air Show

Ever since I can remember, I have loved planes. In fact, it was my love of aviation that brought me from my childhood home in New England to Florida back in the late 90’s to study to be a pilot. So, it should come as no surprise that I love air shows. One of my earliest memories is standing atop a hill overlooking Pease Air Force Base (now Pease Tradeport) as one of the Thunderbirds flew right over my head – seemingly just a few feet above me. There is just something about an air show – the raw power of the planes, the almost superhuman skill of the pilots, and then there’s the back-to-back death defying feats on display for all to see. Its no wonder that even the threat of rain couldn’t keep out the crowds for the 2019 Jacksonville Sea and Sky Spectacular this past weekend. From the Earth to the Moon

Celebrating 50 Years Since Man First Stepped Foot on the Moon

On the afternoon of July 20, 1969 the whole world watched with rapturous anticipation as Apollo 11’s Lunar Module approached the surface of the moon. With bated breath, millions of people awaited 5 simple words that would mark the astronauts’ safe arrival; “Houston, the Eagle has landed”. As fuel supplies quickly dwindled and became dangerously low, Buzz Aldrin brought the Eagle to rest on the surface of the moon with a mere 40 seconds of fuel to spare.
