A Wild Trip to White Oak with Big Break Florida

Several months ago, we had the special pleasure of spending some time with a few of the talented golfers from the Golf Channel’s hit TV show, Big Break. Of course, this was during filming of the latest series, Big Break Florida, so we were asked to delay posting photos until the show was well under way – and so it is! White Oak is always such a treat to visit, and this trip was no exception – giving the contestants a sampling of nearly all White Oak has to offer – from the private golf course and bowling alley, to the shotgun course and eclectic art collections. As is often the case with a White Oak tour, the stops included opportunities to view a wide variety of protected and endangered species and a few hands-on interactions with cheetah, giraffe and several species of rhino. Over the past several years, we’ve shot at White Oak the better part of a dozen times, yet the experience is one I always look forward to and cherish. Best of all, the Conservation Center now does regular events open to the public – be sure to check out their Facebook page to stay informed!

The Stars Come Out in Amelia Island!

This week, we had the pleasure of photographing a wonderful internal event for the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, hosted at the Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island. The event, built around the company’s premier agents from all over the world, was filled with all that we’ve come to expect from the resort – namely great ambiance, once-in-a-lifetime activities, and exceptional food!

As you can see from the slideshow below, the guests were treated to some wonderful activities – from two great culinary classes (below) hosted by the resort’s award-winning chefs, to an interactive visit to White Oak Conservation Center (above) – where guests had the opportunity to view a wide variety of protected and endangered species up close and personal.

The Wonderful World of White Oak

We recently had the opportunity to shoot another event with our friends at the enchanted White Oak Conservation Center. Hidden away on the dirt roads of North Florida, located along the meandering St Marys River, this great location has a collection of mostly African endangered and threatened species. From rhinos and cheetahs to giraffe and zebra – this open plan conservation center makes you feel half a world away.

This time, our group had the pleasure of seeing many of the species White Oak houses, fed the giraffe, and even interacted with a few of the young cheetahs. Certainly a memorable experience! The outing concluded with a great tour of the Big Game Room – filled with amazing artifacts from history, both ancient and modern – and was capped by a gourmet dinner in the Great Hall. Young and not so young alike had some fun at the vintage bowling alley, antique pool tables and all the other wonderful amenities found at White Oak. Below are some of our favorite photos – enjoy!

Fun Under the Amelia Sun – Part 2

Last week we had the privilege of spending several days at the Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island with a great commercial client. The resort not only provided some wonderful meals and amazing service, but they also coordinated a selection of great activities. In this post, I’ve highlighted a trip to the enchanted White Oak Conservation Center, full of mostly African endangered and threatened species. This tour included the opportunity to watch the Cheetahs run, interact with two species of rhino, and feed a family of giraffe. Certainly a memorable experiencing!

The exciting day concluded with a trip the the Ritz’s own AAA 5-diamond rated SALT restaurant, topped off with a fantastic beachfront fireworks display. Enjoy the photos!
