With the smell of Pumpkin Spice in the air and greater-than-average amount of folks in their full arctic wardrobe strolling the eclectic rows of cars on display at this month’s Cars and Coffee, there’s no denying fall has finally come to Jacksonville. With the wonderful weather came the usual panoply of cars, trucks and motorcycles numbering somewhere between 600 and 800 despite a slew of other quality car shows happening on Saturday. August 2019 Jacksonville Cars and Coffee - The Avenues Mall

Unlike the June Cars and Coffee, skies were clear and the sun sweltering at this morning’s gathering of automotive enthusiasts. When we set out at 7:30, the temperature was a more or less comfortable 80°F. Yet when we left the event just after 10, the heat index was indicating 118 degrees thanks to temperatures in the upper 90s and humidity well over 75%. Needless to say, our 1970 Triumph TR6 and its utter lack of air conditioning probably wasn’t the best choice to drive today. But despite all of the atmospheric junkiness, the the First Coast’s car enthusiast came out in force – filling the parking lots of the Avenues Mall yet again.
