Tropical Storm Beryl – DS National Coverage!

It turns out it was worth our effort to plug in our computers, boot them back up, edit and post video from Tropical Storm Beryl to our blog and on YouTube while the storm was still raging outside.  As providence would have it, Good Morning America, the Weather Channel, ABC News, and our local station, WJXT all picked up our footage.  It’s not often our logo gets placed in front of 5+ million people for free.  Granted, the clips were only two or three seconds, but it was still pretty cool!  Big thanks to all the networks who featured our video!

Tropical Storm Beryl – Part 2: The Morning After


Unless I am severely mistaken, we made it through the storm in one piece.  This morning, I took to the roads before sunrise to see what Beryl had left us.  All in all, it was better than I expected with lots of little debris in the road, but only a few trees down.  Tragically, a port-a-potty was not so lucky – having it’s roof ripped off sometime in the night…  But despite the relative tranquility, I still managed to take a few photos here and there.

Here are the rest of the photos – including a reminder that not everyone has Memorial Day off, and a little reptilian friend I found on my journeys this morning. And lest I forget – it is with a somber heart that we at Deremer Studios remember all those who have given that last full measure of devotion to protect what we hold dear.  You are not forgotten!  Enjoy!

Tropical Storm Beryl – Part 1

Well, it seems we’ve had one of those early, unexpected, windbag of a guests tonight.  No, I’m not speaking of an unwanted family member, but rather the first tropical storm to make landfall this year – right in our home town of Jacksonville, FL!  Above is one of the photos I snapped from the front porch.
