After two great food shoots (Re-imagined Shrimp and Grits at the Omni and Salt Cooking School at the Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island) our August culinary trifecta was culminated by the two day Great Southern Tailgate Cookoff. This annual Amelia Island event combines great music, a fair-like atmosphere and some of the best barbeque in the country! Personally, I’m rather partial to burnt ends – the crispy, melty, smokey end bits of brisket – and this year’s sampling was dangerously addictive. Even as I write this, my mouth is salivating over the thoughts of those tasty little morsels! But I digress – I’ve uploaded 35 images for you to peruse in our gallery below – just don’t do so on an empty stomach – as I can’t be held responsible for the outcomes.
