Photo of the Day: Hungry, Hungry Spider?

2014 09 Fine Art - Femal Banana Spider 02 Dinner Time

Last night, around twilight, I was walking around our backyard and happened to notice that the banana spider that I had spotted a few months ago, living on our yellow canna plants, was now rather gigantic.  To give you a reference, her body is about two inches long, with the span of her legs being about four inches.  Last night, she had just begun wrapping her dinner – a small fly – and when I returned this morning, she was nearly complete.   What a cool creature!

As always, please feel free to download as many photos as you like – and if you enjoy our photos, please share this blog with your friends and help us get the word out!
