For the first time in as long as we can remember, our trip to New England coincided with the Portsmouth tall ship festival, called Sail Portsmouth.   The event draws a diverse and impressive collection of sailing ships from days long past.  This year’s main attraction was El Galeón Andalucía, out of Spain.  This detailed reproduction of a 16th century sailing ship actually wintered in St Augustine, FL this year, just an hour from our door, yet it took a trip to NH for us to finally see it firsthand!

During our first evening of photography, we happened to bump into Jim Salge, a talented New England photographer.  Over the years, we have been mutually enjoying each others work – Jim has some awesome shots – but we had never met – until a few nights ago when the allure of the beautiful ship and an equally beautiful setting drew us both to the same spot!
