Welcome to 2022!

Free 2022 Desktop Wallpaper Calendar Collection

Well, here we are… Like 2020, it seems 2021 wasn’t quite the year all of us were expecting. For many – probably all of us to one degree or another – it was a year of struggle, hardship and loss. But now its 2022! And with the New Year comes another 365 days for us each to make the most of, regardless of what comes our way. As has become our tradition, we’ve put together a collection of seven 2022 desktop wallpaper calendars to brighten up your computer in 2022. Whether you enjoy the pristine beauty of lighthouses on rugged shores, the thrill of unique and storied cars, the picturesque scenes of small town New England, or the bird’s-eye perspective of our fine art drone photography – we’re sure to have something to suite your tastes! And the best part – they’re all free to download and enjoy!

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
– Jesus, Matthew 11:28, 29

We hope you enjoy our 2022 desktop wallpaper collection, and we wish each and every one of you a year of joy, accomplishment and (in a culture that is increasingly devoid of rest) a healthy portion of margin to slow down, relax and enjoy fellowship with the Lord, the fruits of your labor, and the warm comfort of friends and family.

Jekyll Island Glory: Fire in the Sky

A Spectacular “Fire in the Sky” Bookend Set of Dusk and Dawn Displays with a Side of Driftwood Astrophotography

Jekyll Island Fire in the Sky - Sunrise over calm waters

Late last week, we had the pleasure of spending a night along Georgia’s beautiful Golden Isles before photographing the Days Inn Jekyll Island to help them highlight their newly remodeled rooms. The evening happened to coincide with the Alpha Monocerotids meteor shower which promised to deliver up to 400 shooting starts per hour as the earth briefly passed through the debris field of this ancient comet. Add to that an absolutely stunning sunset and sunrise, and the night’s session certainly warranted our “Fire in the Sky” moniker. Here’s just a sampling of the over 100 fine art images we captured – but please feel free to visit our full collection from Jekyll Island here.

Nova Scotia Autumn Memories

An Autumn Stroll Among Long-Forgotten Nova Scotia Photos

Nova Scotia in Autumn - Hall's Harbour

Sometimes, a trip down the rabbit hole can be a rewarding experience. What began as a search through our archives for lighthouse panoramas to round out our collection became a discovery of unedited images, including over 100 yet-to-be stitched panoramas, from a very special trip to Nova Scotia back in 2011. With Hurricane Dorian bearing down on the province today with 100mph winds, our hearts go out and our prayers go up to the good people of Nova Scotia.

Down East Road Trip – Acadia National Park & Bar Harbor

3 Days of Wonder and Nostalgia in New England’s Only National Park

Acadia National Park & Bar Harbor - Bass Harbor Light Spectacular Sunset

New England, and certainly Acadia National Park, has always held a special place in my heart. I grew up in coastal New Hampshire and some of my fondest childhood memories center around family trips to the park. It was here, my brother and I took our first flight, soaring silently above the rounded mountains of Mt. Desert Island in a glider, and to this day, a clock hangs in my parents house with a photo of my brother, myself and our cousins atop Cadillac Mountain from a trip in the early 90’s. It was here too, that I took Bryn for her first trip to New England, before we were even dating, now 20 years ago, and here we returned two years later as part of our honeymoon. And so, after a far-too-long time away, we returned again this summer to Acadia to introduce our own children to a park that holds so many of our treasured memories.

Down East Road Trip – Niagara Falls

Exploring the Canadian and American Sides of Niagara Falls from Land, Air and Water.

One of the big name destinations on our Down East Road Trip was our two-day, one-night trip to Niagara Falls. We had never been to Niagara – so everything proved a surprise to us – and while much of our stay was truly epic, truth be told, not all of the surprises were pleasant. The experienced proved a timely example of the good and bad things that come when a natural treasure such as Niagara Falls is not protected from commercialization.
