With Pebble Beach just around the corner and the 2015 Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance quickly approaching, we wanted to begin sharing some of our favorite cars from the 2104 Amelia Concours. This month we’re featuring the stunning 1914 Mercedes 115HP Grand Prix racer. The car was brought to Amelia to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Mercedes’ 1-2-3 victory at the 1914 French Grand Prix held in Lyons. The very next year, Ralph de Palma won the Indy 500 in the #2 115HP. The #28 was raced by the Mercedes factory until sold to Count Louis Zborowski who continued competing in the car until 1922.
