Photographing the Track-ready, Street-savvy BGB Motorsports Porsche 911 GTS for Panorama
When we got a call from the good folks at Panorama to photograph a Porsche 991.2 GTS at Daytona International Speedway, it would be fair to say I was more than a little excited. When I learned I would have the car for the morning to drive around the infield and photograph, it was even better! And when I found out that our photos of the aptly nicknamed ‘Big Bird’ would be featured in the 750th edition of Panorama, I was ecstatic! Here’s just a few of our favorite images from this epic shoot. Be sure to check out the full article on page 90 of the September issue of Panorama.
The basic premise of Big Bird is simple enough – developing a track-day superstar that’s still a comfortable daily driver – though the execution of such a vision is anything but easy. But this is exactly what John Tecce and his team at BGB Motorsports out of Ormond Beach have done. From the outside, Big Bird is the quintessential sleeper – that is if you can call a bright yellow Porsche 911 a sleeper – but little on the outside hints at the monster lurking just beneath its vibrant dayglow skin. You’ll have to read the Panorama article for all the mouthwatering specs and mods, but suffice to say, this isn’t your average GTS.
