Musings from Jacksonville Car Culture’s May 2019 Cars and Coffee
If there’s one thing certain about Jacksonville Cars and Coffee, its that you never know exactly what you’ll see. In fact, I can’t recall a Cars and Coffee where I wasn’t pleasantly surprised by the manifold automotive wonders on display. This month was certainly not an exception. Below is our highlight video from the event, as well as some of our favorite specimens and a link to the full Jacksonville Cars and Coffee Gallery, featuring over 250 images.
Let’s face the facts – without moms, life as we know it would grind to a stop. Beyond their mere biological necessity, moms provide invaluable and often underappreciated love and care that we celebrate on this day. So, as a very small token of our appreciation, we’ve created a veritable bouquet of flowers for you this week – in the form of desktop wallpaper. Here’s just a few samples – but the whole gallery is here, on our site. We love you moms!
We’ve hit a seasonal milestone here in Florida – one that is unique to photographers and glass-wearers that inevitably signals the coming of summer in Florida. This week, while on a shoot, I ventured from inside an air-conditioned Winn-Dixie to the outside, and instantly, my lens fogged up – a sign of the humidity and accompanying heat that comes with a Florida summer. Full disclosure, I do not care for Florida summers – and so for my fellow sufferers, here’s a sampling from our winter collection – a chilly reminder that this too shall pass…
A Firsthand Account of Amelia Island’s Historic Shrimping Industry
Over the past decade, we’ve had the great pleasure of capturing the beautiful and diverse stories of Amelia Island, FL for their Visitor’s Bureau. Many of those stories I’ll never forget, and this month’s adventure is definitely one of those memories that will linger for years to come.
As it is with any fishing story, the adventure began at daybreak as we gathered on the northern tip of Amelia Island to meet up with Captain Wilson and his historic wooden shrimp boat, Three Cees’s. Though the coast to both our north and south was largely clouded over, we were treated to a stunning sunrise over the marshy interior of the island.
Fine Art Photography from the 2019 Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance
It has been a supreme honor to be the official photographer of the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance over the last several years – and something we hope to do for many years to come. Each year, we compile a talented team of automotive photographers to capture the spectacle that is the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance – and this year was no exception. The team did an exceptional job covering the event and we certainly could not do it without them.
