Sun, Rain and a Hearty Helping of Lightning along Jacksonville’s Scenic A1A
Rumor had it that a very rare unicorn-level car, the 10 million dollar Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR, was headed our way as part of the Gold Rush Rally that we posted about earlier today. So, after finishing up photos at the Ritz-Carlton, we headed south on A1A, to the spot where we had begun our afternoon. We never did get to see the car, but what we did get to see was just as amazing.
Striking Hypercar Riches as the Gold Rush Rally Lands on the First Coast
Yesterday, thanks to the fine folks at Jacksonville Car Culture and Automotive Addicts, we discovered that the Gold Rush Rally would once again be passing through the First Coast. Destined for The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island on the first leg of an epic 10-day, several-thousand-mile tour, this group of a few dozen flamboyantly wrapped supercars roared onto the island with the high-revving and deep rumbling tones other mere mortal cars can only dream of making.
Exploring the Craggy and Historic Sentinels of the New Hampshire Coast
Every once in a while, if the conditions are just right, we’ll get a summer’s day here in Florida that reminds me of my beloved New Hampshire childhood. Today is just such a day, with unseasonably low humidity, azure blue skies, the chirping of songbirds and a gentle breeze that transports me back to a lazy summer day in New England. It was on just such a day that Bryn and I visited the Isles of Shoals for the first time back in July of 2017.

Despite the threat of rain that never quite materialized, we had a strong turnout for this month’s Jacksonville Cars and Coffee at the Avenues Mall. As has become the norm, hundreds of unique cars from all walks of life descended upon the meet-up for a petrol head’s dream Saturday morning.
